Approach

Creative, exploratory, and student led.

Not everyone connects with music through traditional instruments. Some learners are drawn to sound, patterns, visuals, and experimentation rather than sitting with a piano or ukulele.

These sessions use creative technology and digital tools to make music in a way that feels intuitive and engaging. Students can build loops, create beats, explore sound effects, write songs, and experiment freely without needing to read music or follow conventional rules.

For many autistic and neurodivergent learners, this approach feels more natural than traditional lessons. It allows them to interact with music through curiosity and play.

We might use tools like MIDI keyboards, Soundtrap, MakeyMakey, AUMI, garageband, Playtronica and other interactive devices to create music in a hands-on way. There’s no pressure to “get it right.” The focus is on exploring, creating, and enjoying sound.

This option is especially popular with teens, adults, and students who love technology, creativity, or learning by doing.
